Last night, Mr.W and I finally went to the Hollywood Bowl for the first time THIS season. What took us so long? It was lovely breaking bread (and cheese and pate) with good friends while taking in the sounds of New Orleans.
(check the doubled trumpet action!)
Le swoon: the world famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band
(Sorry for the blown out photo. Too bad because these guys have style: red socks on the trombone player and the glasses on the pianist made them even more endearing.)
The annual Jazz Fest closers: The Neville Brothers
(For Steph and me, Aaron Neville's iconic falsetto brought about recollections of our moms)
All that was missing was Abita and Crawfish Monica (and beignets and pralines). A bonus was the stunning dance performance by the Trey McIntyre Project! I hadn't heard about them until last night. Check them out if you can.
And see our post concert silliness/giddyness taking photos by the stage.
Mr. W is SO serious.
But look who's serious now...
I was remiss in taking a photo of our pal Troy by the stage, but alas, too much excitement for the evening made me forgetful! Next time dear friend. XO
