I've written about one of my favorite bakeries in Brooklyn: BAKED. Recently, they've come out with a new book about American baking (available here).
Check out this trailer, featuring some thoughts on baking in this country and a skillet-baked chocolate cake. Personally I find American baking to be my favorite kind. I'm a simple baker, and don't like to fuss too much when it comes to dessert (although my favorite fruit crumble recipe came out of the Rose Bakery cookbook).
When the temperature comes down and it starts to feel like Autumn, I'll be testing out these recipes in my kitchen. XO
