Packing Strategy

I think I should re-pack my bags after seeing this photo.

Note to self: Pack red lipstick (although I think her's is fuschia). XO

Cozy Christmas

Happy Holidays everyone! Mr. W and I are off for a winter wonderland honeymoon (yes, we know it's a little delayed) but we're soooo looking forward to getting away from the hustle for some quiet time and a little of this...

But the real highlight of the holiday is that we're staying in a dreamy cabin which belongs to my mister's sister. Not only is she incredibly generous, she's a wonderful photographer. She shared some photos of the cabin and surrounding scenery to give us a sneak peek into the holiday ahead.

Doesn't it look cold?

Even colder! I think this is creek runs alongside the cabin.

I'm sure we'll try sitting outside at least once just to say we did.

Shiver me timbers! Look at those icicles - amazing!

More icicles. And look at that tree in the center, it almost looks like gold.

How sweet this bedroom is.

I see a hot chocolate in my future.

And the best part of all.

Thank you so much Pam - we're really looking forward to this holiday break! XOXO

A Cup of Joe, to go.

I love this idea of Keep Cup. The reusable coffee/commuter mug isn't new - but I always wondered how the baristas knew where the Grande fill line was (outside of filling a cup first and then pouring into the mug, in which case - doesn't that defeat the purpose?). Keep Cup provides standard sizes (also translated here in Starbucks speak): Small/Tall, Medium/Grande, Large/Venti.

What's especially sweet about the Keep Cup is that you can customize your color options! Genius.

You can even purchase in bulk, based on your custom color combo. Next, I'd love to see them offer a gift voucher so someone else may enjoy designing their own Keep Cup - from you! XO

The Most Wonderful Time

I can't believe I forgot to post about Mr. W's great holiday light skillz! We've been rocking the yuletide cheer since Thanksgiving.

Here's the outside of our humble abode. It really does make me happy to drive up to our house after a long day at the office.

Especially with this guy waving HELLO!

On the inside, we decided to go a little modest with our little live rosemary plant (though I took this from a low angle to make it seem gargantuan, then again the lights give it away).

We even made Elkie get festive.

This week is going to fly by, just like 2010 has really. Wishing you lots of holiday cheer to you and yours. XO

Another Year

Last Thursday was my birthday. I was hoping it would go by quietly, but others had different plans. It was a really busy day at the office with back to back meetings and a few sweet surprises thrown in here and there.

First, my husband had 100 Peruvian Lilies delivered to me at the office.

Then the team surprised me with a North American integration call ending with Red Velvet cupcakes from Sprinkles!

And then a video from our wedding showed up in my inbox - secretly completed in time for my birthday! I watched it once (okay, maybe twice) and it gave my butterflies.

The rest of the day rounded out with more meetings, some LA December traffic, Christmas carols care of Nicky and dinner with a quiet birthday song and cake (the one way up above- it's marble because it's old school, like I'm becoming).

I'm a lucky girl. It's been a pretty great year. XO

Crack Pie

Have you ever had it? I purchased one, intrigued, from a little bakery in Montrose for our little Thanksgiving Friday cocktail party. The description at the bakery read "Crack Pie: like pecan pie without the nuts."

But it was so much more than that. Like a well-baked yet tender pie made of dulce de leche, buttery crust and sprinkled with powdered sugar, for even more extravagance!

Turns out, the NY part of the pie name is part of the provenance - as Momofuku was the first to offer Crack Pie. Bake one and get addicted too. XO

A few of my favorite things (right now)

Rosemary, the scent, the shape, the flavor (even a cookie)

Candles - especially ones that conjure images of forests.

Gold - I love this simple gold blouse.

Shop 20x200

20x200 a Jen Beckman project. A well-designed e-shop featuring editions of artwork by a range of great artists, all available in different sizes and price points for everyone. A great way to start your personal art collection or give a stand-apart gift. Bonus: reading the background of each image is 1/2 the fun of exploring this site.

SLoWJo on Green Wedding Shoes

Thanks to Jen Campbell from Green Wedding Shoes for sharing our wedding with the world! And thanks to Our Labor of Love for capturing our day beautifully.

You can view the entire post HERE. XOXO

Clothed in CANVAS

Land's End Canvas. I hadn't heard about it until I saw an ad in the latest Lucky (btw, I must've really been living under a rock because I had know idea that Kim France and Andrea Linett left their posts! My world is changed). Well I don't know much about Land's End, in fact I sometimes get the confused with LL Bean, but a quick jaunt to the Canvas online shop and I'm excited about the prospects.

I've been looking for a classic sweatshirt with the little triangle detail under the collar. This one has chic short sleeves - nice for layering!

I've been a little obsessed with driving gloves for awhile now. These come in an espresso brown (and basic black) and are very reasonably priced.

For our upcoming holiday in Vermont, I'm in need of more sleek boots that work in snow (I'm a city girl, what do I know?).

Another potential piece for Vermont - a comfy hood and scarf in one.

Little Ways to Celebrate Repeal Day

December 5th is this Sunday! Why should you care? It's the day that Prohibition was repealed back in 1933. How timely that you now have an excuse to imbibe between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
You're welcome! If you'd like, you can take some time on the 5th to celebrate our right to have a nice drink (and not the stuff bootleggers tried to peddle).
I'm taking to my favorite cocktail blog Liqurious for new cocktails to try. Some clicks:
  • Not usually a fan of milk in my cocktails, but I'd try a sip of this Spiced White Russian with ginger infused vodka

  • Come and knock on my door with Three's Company, the Regal Beagle and The Harvey Wallbanger

  • The best part of waking up is a cocktail in my cup! Coffee + Cocktail

  • Lazy Boy - a cocktail to sip while sitting in the chair
Of course be safe and Slainte! XO

Speedpacking!

Here at the new agency (name coming soon), we've been working on a few BIG things. All very exciting! One project we worked on was the U.S. reveal of the 2012 Mazda5 (see the video below) at the LA Auto Show.

We challenged 4 performers to expertly pack 3 scenarios (with costume changes) and hundreds of props into the Mazda5 in 2 minutes, or less!

Will they succeed? See the nail biter here:

Goldfingers

I've been obsessed with a spin on the classic french manicure. Though, for whatever reason I chip the tips so much faster than others. Why me? I love this version via Prismera.

Just in time for the holidays! Sort of like gold-rimmed china on a special occasion dinner table. XO
