Still Life

I wish we were still in Paris on a day like today. One of our favorite stops was to La Maison Deyrolle (46 rue du Bac, Paris, 7th arr).

You don't need to be a fan of taxidermy to appreciate the artistry that goes into their work.

Every piece looks as if it's about to complete a motion that will never be.

How often can you stand inches away from ferocious animals without fearing for your life?

The quietest hen I've ever met.

The little ones make me sort of sad.

Mr. W and I would have loved to take a custom butterfly collection home with us. I really wanted to take home a rooster with fantastical plumage, but decided we don't really have a place for it. Perhaps on our next trip.
